I lay here, broken, defeated, clutching my hand close to my chest. I remember it well, my defeat, my tale of unrest. First came the fear, which choked out my courage, truths demise. Which gave rise to deception, which shrouded me and blinded my allies. Then came hatred, which burned my love, a passionate flame, It has burned many things, composure,reason, understanding, all the same. Then came sadness, which drowned my happiness, and swept away my vision. This tore away everything, leaving me by lonesome, truly weak by this division. As I lay in the shadows, snoring all about me, I feel a sense of sweet belonging, For in the shadows there is nothing to see, And sometimes, that blindness is calming. The future is dark, and seems so far away, It's not here, its not near, i feel at peace, For that future is not to come today, And so I lay my head on this pillow and urge my thoughts to cease. Slowly my conscious begins to fade, And the darkness begins to clutter, This night I rest, in this peace I have made. I close my eyes, I take a breathe, no further words tonight, shall I mutter.

My Queen lies here, she is resting her head, I stand by her faithfully, waiting for her to rise. She is sleeping on a cold marble bed. The lid blocks her view from my eyes. I remember when she was awake, and we were together, her smile would set my soul ablaze, she was the one.
